Smelting ores yields ingots, which can then be used at forges to create armor, weapons, and jewelry, or at grindstones and workbenches to improve armor and weapons. Ores (already mined) and ingots can also occasionally be found in a wide variety of locations and on some people and objects. Ores can be extracted from veins found in mines and other areas around Skyrim, such as some caves and outdoors in rocky areas. Ores and Ingots are various forms of metal that can be collected and smithed to create and improve items.
